When I brought back the Artist Spotlight, I knew I would get to hear some great music. Today I’m sharing with Blake Trent – EP. This EP is 5 songs and it does not disappoint. When you get good sounding music, it’s something that should be shared.

Blake Trent

This album is completely about the music. It’s clean and crisp. This is not an album with added beats, it’s all instruments. Acoustic guitar, piano, and of course vocals.Blake Trent has is own unique sound and style. I wouldn’t call it alternative or folk, it’s a mixture of the two. But a really good mixture.

When I’m doing a review I like to share my favorites from the album. Well, this EP, it was hard to pick tracks to highlight here on the blog, they were all that good.

“Flicker” is piano and vocals. It’s a very mellow song, it really showcases Blake’s voice. The piano does not overpower his singing. If you listen to this song, you will want to hear more of his music. This is music and the EP is outstanding!

About Blake Trent

Blake Trent was born and raised in Orlando. Blake has been playing music mostly in a worship setting since college. Learning guitar and piano from a young age, music has always been a strong part of his life. Around 18 years old, he started writing his own music because he “wasn’t satisfied with what was on the radio”.

People often ask what genre of music Blake falls into, and for now, it would seem there is a variety. Blake has had a lot of influences from a lot of amazing artists such as twenty one pilots, NF, Kaleo, and Linkin Park. Going forward expect to hear indie rock and spoken word. Blake always wants his lyrics to impact his listeners, and challenge them to understand themselves and others around them in a deeper way. At the end of the day, this has, and always will be, about people.
