Where has the time gone? We just brought the Princess her bike last summer. Now, we are saying bye, bye to the training wheels. She’s only five, shouldn’t she keep them on a little longer!?!
Last weekend she asks for us to take to training wheels off. I ask her if she was sure and explain to her that when the wheels come up, she has to work on balancing herself. I also explain the training wheels on her bike are there to help her not thump her bike over. She said, “I know mom, I want them off”. So B grabbed some tools and off came the training wheels.
I was not ready for that; she is growing up so fast. But I am excited to be starting the next stage of bike riding with her. We have been up and down the driveway, and both of our neighbor’s driveways too. She has had a few falls, a few almost falls, and a lot of fun. Today, she almost had it, I’m sure she will have it on her own in no time at all. We are all having fun with the princess learning to ride without training wheels.
What age did your little one ask for the training wheels to come off?
They grow up to fast. My oldest just got married while my youngest learned how to ride a bike.
I know, they grow up too fast. Congratulations to your oldest!
they do grow up fast, it seems taking training wheels off is such a big step to freedom! they can ride like the wind while we watch holding our breaths. I still wish mine were riding their bikes and not driving cars. that’s even worse!
I not even ready to think about driving cars, lol. I will be a nervous wreck when the time comes for learning to drive a car.
That’s so awesome! Good for her! Our kids really do grow up too fast for us.
