Mornings always start out better with music. It can also help to set your vibe for the day. This morning Rob Ashley’s album  Premiere. Farewell. landed in my inbox.

I jumped right into listening to this album. I get a 90’s music scene vibe. Which is not a bad thing, because I love 90’s music. This album has this rock-alternative feel to it.  The first song that really jumped out at me and I had to replay it because it was amazing was At 21, You’re a Rebel. It has a great up-tempo beat, lyrics are good. This song, really showcases the drummer, as the drums are the dominant instrument on this track. With a guitar getting to strum take the lead about mid-way through.

Overall it’s a good album. If you are looking for new music to add to your playlist, check out this album. It’s mellow but still has that get up and dance beat.

Farewell. After almost three decades of work in the New England Music Scene, Rob Ashley has finally produced his first solo album, Premiere. Farewell.  Hearkening back to the days of The Replacements and Uncle Tupelo, the songs on this album sound familiar yet fresh.

Throughout the years and his many projects, Rob composed songs that didn’t have a home with those projects.  He set those songs aside as time went by.  During a natural break in his music career, he came back to those songs and began the process of recording the songs for eventual release.  The project grew from a solo acoustic endeavor to a stripped-down duo to a full-on rock band.  This variety is shown in the variety of the album’s songs.

Recording with singer/songwriters Keller Glass and Daphne Martin, and also at industry-renowned Dirt Floor Studios, the songs show a gamut of emotion and sound while still featuring a strong narrative. Premiere. Farewell. stands alone in the musical landscape, bringing vivid characters and dizzying stories to life in every note.

Premiere. Farewell. has received radio airplay on more than 40 stations across North America including:
