The first thing I like about the album New York Soull by Indie Soull is that he has the live versions of many of the songs on this album. You are getting the true, authentic sound. New York Soull is an album that you don’t want to sleep on.

The first thing I like about the album New York Soull by Indie Soull is that he has the live versions of the songs. You are getting the true, authentic sound. New York Soull  is an album that you don’t want to sleep on.

The first song on the album is “Mother Mary”, and performed live at Pete’s Candy Store in Brooklyn, New York. “Carolina” follows and is performed live at the Bitter End in New York City. The tempo, Indie Soull’s vocals are all great on this song. When listening to the song, you I can picture the crowd listening to him perform this song. Everyone’s head just swaying with each strum of his guitar.

“Iron Doors” is beautiful and performed live at the Bitter End in New York City. It’s a song that makes you want to dance. Song after song Indie Soull delivers. He does the same with “Glow”. Another extraordinary song on the album.

I always pick one song that is my favorite when I listen to an album, of course when each song on the album is great that makes it harder. “Stages” would be one of my favorites from the New York Soull album.

Each song so far has been amazing! “What Kind of Man” keeps that flow going. This song is the halfway point of the album and it shows that Indie Soull is truly an artist. Song after song has showcased his talent. “Saints With No Names”  and “Nights Such As These” continue on with the greatness of this album.

“Sunshine and Storms” is another favorite from the album. The lyrics are beautifully written. It’s Indie Soull and his guitar on this song. “Will we sail the seven seas before we die. Do we live through the sunshine and storms.” The message I get from this song – no matter if you are having great days (sunshine) or bad days (storms) you have to embrace each day and keep moving forward. Don’t let the storms halt you.

“How will You Sleep?” performed live at the Bitter End in New York City. If you don’t get up and want to dance or move your body, something is wrong. That’s the effect that “Mad Mad Day” has. It’s an upbeat tempo with a 90’s vibe that I love.

This is music! This album from beginning to end is outstanding. Simple, pure, vocals with just a guitar. Indie Soull’s voice is enough that there is no need for added production or beats created. His music is music you can meditate to, workout to, clean your house, or just relax with your favorite beverage in hand.
