I’ve taken a few momcations to Las Vegas and have shared about each trip. Today I wanted to combine it all into a handy travel guide to make it easy to check out the hotels I stayed at and also help to plan your momcation, girls trip, or a family trip to Las Vegas.

You can read about my first momcation here, the Red Rock Momcation here, and also the latest momcation here.

Where to Stay

I’m sharing about the two hotels I have stayed. There are tons of hotels on the strip and hotels to fit within varies budgets.

Bellagio – I’ve stayed here twice already. It’s my favorite of the two hotels I’ve stayed at. I stayed there on my first trip to Las Vegas and again on my last trip to see The Butterfly Returns.

One thing I like is the conservatory. It is always beautifully decorated for the season – the current seasonal exhibit is titled, “Falling Asleep”.

Red Rock Casino, Resort, and Spa – This a lovely hotel, off the strip. It’s great because it’s not a super crowded hotel. It’s perfect for yoga and relaxing. The yoga classes are what caught my attention. When relaxing is what you want, this is the place.

Getting Around

You can easily get around Las Vegas. There are a number of options for getting around.

Rent a Car – In the past, before Uber was popular, I’ve rented a car to get around. I dislike driving around new places, it gets my anxiety into overdrive. If renting a car is the route you like to take for getting around, it’s best to research where the busy intersections, times you should avoid certain areas because of a higher volume of traffic. This is good know because many times these busy areas also have more intersection accidents.

Here’s a great infographic on intersection accidents in Las Vegas, including the location of the most dangerous intersection in Las Vegas. You can also read about the most common causes of intersection accidents, things that contribute to intersection accidents, and some general crash statistics here.

Uber – This is my favorite way to get around. I’ve used Uber each time to and from the airport. I’ve also used it to go places that were not within walking distance of the hotel, like the Harley Davidson shop.

Monorail or Tram – If you are staying on the strip, there is a monorail and tram that you can take to get to varies places along the strip. I’ve used the monorail once, it was easy to get from my hotel to the shopping center I was wanting to shop in. Bonus, it was free!

Places to Eat

Yard House – They have the best appetizer!! Since my first time eating at the Yard House in Honolulu, whenever I see one when traveling, it’s a must that I eat there. If you are looking for good food, great drinks, and reusable priced, this is the spot. They have a crazy number of beers on tap and bottled beers.

Noodle at Bellagio – On both stays at the Bellagio I ate here. Every dish I’ve eaten was good, especially the Thai spicy shrimp noodle. It’s spicy but so so good.

The Cafe at Bellagio –  Great for breakfast, the only downside is this restaurant doesn’t open until 6 a.m.

8 Noodle Bar at Red Rock Casino – Not a bad restaurant. It’s worth a try if you are staying at the Red Rock Casino, Resort, and Spa.

Things to Do + Shopping

Bellagio Fountain – Each time I see the foundations, I am amazed. No matter what hotel you stay at, you have to check out the fountain show. If you can you should see it both in the daytime and at night.

The Shops at Crystal – Also known as Crystals at City Center is a luxury shopping mall. This is a beautiful shopping center. Shops include my favorite Louis Vuitton, Christian Louboutin, Hermès, Cartier, Mikimoto, Versace, and tons of other great shops. If you are staying on the strip you can ride the tram here.

Real Bodies at Bally’s – This is real human bodies. Yes, real bodies on display. There is more than 20 preserved human bodies and more than 200 anatomical specimens at this exhibit. The exhibit explores the inner workings of the human body to explore elements of hunger, breathing, the rhythm of the heart, and other body functions.

Via Bellagio Shops – This is shopping inside the Bellagio Hotel. Stores include Louis Vuitton (my favorite), Tiffany & Co., Prada, Gucci, Harry Winston, Chanel, Dior, Fendi, and Giorgio Armani.

Buzz is Mariah Carey will be doing another Butterfly Returns residency again next year. I saw her show this past July and it was amazing! It worth going to her show in 2019 if you are a Mariah fan. I hope this travel guide helps you with planning your next trip to Las Vegas.
