My family and I took a trip to Osaka and one of the places we visited was the Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan. Toddler girl LOVES the aquarium and from a travel group, I heard this was a great aquarium. We went on a Saturday; it was pouring rain. We were there 30 minutes early, as we rode the train and was not sure how far a walk it would be from the train station. Once we arrived there was already a long line of people waiting in the rain. Admission for adults is 2,300 yen and 600 yen for children ages 4-6. It was very easy to get to by train. It is about 30 minutes from the Osaka Station via the Chuo Line.
The aquarium host many different kinds of fish and the largest tanks I have seen. Our favorite was the tank with the whale sharks. Toddler girl and I had not seen one before and it was exciting seeing the large animal.
Next to the aquarium is the Tempozan Market Place; shopping, eating, and entertainment. Tempozan Harbor Village also has a giant Ferris wheel and one of the largest Ferris wheels in the world.
