This afternoon, on a walk through parts of Kamakura, one of the things I came across was the Kamakura Museum. It cost 400 yen for an adult, you can go inside and see the exhibit. Photos were not allowed inside. But the museum houses sculptures, pictures, dolls, and other art pieces. It is a hidden gem located on the grounds of Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine.

 

Museum Hours:
9:00am – 4:30pm with last admission at 4:00pm
Closed on Monday. Except for National Holidays on Monday, then the museum will open and close on the following Tuesday.

Admission:
300 ~ 600 yen (depending on exhibition)
100 ~ 300 yen for Junior high and Elementary School Students

Access:
Train – JR Line, Enoden Line — 12 minutes from Kamakura Station
Bus – Keikyu Bus — 3 minutes from Daigaku-Mae bus stop. Enoden Bus — 3 minutes from Kamakura-Hachimangu-Mae bus stop.
