As women, we grow up with the pressure to get married and have kids! Since we are old enough to play make-believe, adults around us start asking us how many kids we would like to have. And they are buying us baby dolls, toy bottles, clothes, and everything else to prepare us for what they perceive as “the most fulfilling role” a woman has in society.  It is something that has been done to us. There are plenty of reasons why people opt for having kids. They want to have someone to take care of them when they are old, for example. Many of us see them as cute and feel that we are getting older at a slower pace when we are surrounded by kids, etc. But there is something else, which can be difficult to talk about. One of the reasons why we push ourselves to have kids lies in the fact that we are aware that some women can’t get pregnant even if they want to. We see it as kind of a privilege, don’t we?  So even though we are burdened with a tremendous amount of pressure, we feel in a way obligated to get pregnant!

As we mentioned, although it is seen as something “natural,” the reality is that not all women are equipped with the ability to produce a baby. Various factors can prevent a healthy pregnancy, such as premature menopause, hormonal problems, scaring of the tissue, endometriosis, etc. Apart from those, the problem might be caused by environmental factors, physical activity, diet, and our habits, to name a few other things. Above all, we all know how fertility changes with age. It is unfortunate and disappointing to learn that you can’t get pregnant, especially if you want a baby!

After receiving such news, women usually start to look for the best treatment in an attempt to figure out how to boost fertility in women. As you probably know, there are various options such as artificial insemination (AI), in vitro fertilization (IVF), natural cycle IVF, etc.

These are healing practices based on the idea that the mind is an essential factor in health and illness. Although this concept dates from ancient times, it is only recently starting to be accepted in the Western world.  The idea is that the body and the mind are connected. Hence, all of our thoughts, feelings, beliefs, and attitudes can influence our biological functioning in both positive and negative ways. It isn’t about emptying your mind either. It is about paying attention to ‘here and now’ – your thoughts, feeling, and sensations, whatever they may be.

However, although it is called imagery, visualization, etc., this technique involves all senses, not just the visual. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

It is a common type of talk therapy where you work on your therapist to learn how to identify and change destructive thought patterns. It focuses on changing the negative thoughts that can be the reason for emotional difficulties, depression, and anxiety.
