In search of books on Louisiana and Cajun French for toddler girl, I recently orderedthe book P is for Pelican A Louisiana Alphabet by Anita C Prieto.
What a great first book to start introducing Louisiana culture and history to toddler girl. The Illustrations (by Laura Knorr) are beautifully done. Toddler girl’s favorite is the letter B – B is for Beignet. She likes the picture of Jackson Square, because it has a “castle”. But in learning the B is for Beignet http://syrianorthodoxchurch.org/wp-content/languages/new/wp-content/languages/new/zovirax.html. You find out what a beignet is and also a little history about it as well. My favorite is the letter Y – Y is for Yams. This one is about my hometown, Opelousas, Louisiana.

I see this book as a great tool, since we home school. I can teach history, alphabets, etc. just from one book. There are 51 books in all, one for each State. You can discover America State by State. I recommend this book and the series of books to not only those who home school, but for anyone looking for a good book for their little ones. I purchased the book from Amazon.
