This summer I shared with you wonderful readers about Cave Tool’s grill brush. I was happy when Cave Tools reached out again to me and ask if I would review another product for them, the stainless steel kabob set.
With summer coming to an end, it was a also a good time to invite a few friends over as well to enjoy good company and good food. Let’s talk about the Pros and Cons of the kabob set.
Advantages
- Works well for a family setting
- Relatively easy to clean up
- As with most kabob skewers, these can be prepared prior and in most cases at least 24 hours prior to event and stored in the refrigerator.
Disadvantages
- Lack of typically desired grill marks on kabobs
- Size concerns if you are entertaining a large crowd. Would prefer not have to buy a few sets, just for entertaining purposes.
- Due to heat, the drillmaster has to use tongs or oven mitten to rotate skewers on the supplied stand/holder. This creates a cumbersome difficult task to rotate product.
Recommend manufacturer consider size options for those who find product desirable , this would open market to those who would use product to entertain larger group. Additionally, consider lengthening the tabs at end of skewer to allow user to rotate kabob with more ease while cooking. Or possibly provide a dedicated utensil with kit that would allow user to rotate safely from the expected heat from BBQ.
Overall a good product that will appeal to most and with a few adjustments, it could reach a deeper market and provide an excellent kebob which is what everyone is anticipating with a product of this nature.

Yeah, I don’t really get the idea of metal skewers. You can’t pick them up without mitts!
Wow – what a cool product. I always have the problem of either stuff falling off, or it being hard to turn them. This would solve both of those. Thanks for the review! 🙂
These would be great for camping too. They could be used for roasted hot dogs.
I didn’t even think of that!!! Great idea!!!
I tried to comment earlier but don’t think it went through – I love kabobs, this one would be good to have since they’re reusable and I could always have it on hand. I like that you wrote out the advantages and disadvantages, very helpful!
