Not all vacation trips have to be super expensive. There are some affordable trips out there if you know where to look, and there are even some great ones to countries in the Middle East. Here are some of the most affordable packages to Middle Eastern countries.

Ephesus, Turkey

Ephesus is mostly known for the Temple of Artemis that resides there, which was once one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Unfortunately, it was destroyed in 401 A.D. and then rebuilt by Emperor Constantine.

If you’re traveling by cruise to Ephesus, then your first port will be Kusadasi, which is a coastal town in Turkey. Traveling to Ephesus from this point is about thirty minutes by public transportation, but once you get there, the streets are rife with shops for you to peruse through.

You’ll have a hard time choosing between Ephesus or an Azerbaijan package for your next vacation.

Dahab, Egypt

Dahab is a small town located on the Sinai Peninsula and is a very popular destination with divers and swimmers. Hikers like to frequent this location as well for the hills and mountains in the area. It’s a very popular destination for tourists who are looking for a fun time with affordable accommodation.

For the kind of weather you can expect, it’s pretty hot all year round, with the temperatures becoming mild at night during “winter.” It rarely rains, but March can be the wettest month of the year.

Amman, Jordan

It’s one of the largest cities in the Hashemite Kingdom and is the capital of Jordan. With a population of over 4 million people, there’s a lot of things to do that involve Amman’s culture. The first thing you’ll notice is the large and beautiful Roman Amphitheater, which houses a folklore and cultural museum. The New Jordan Museum is also close by and admission is free.

Tehran, Iran

The longest-standing monument within Tehran is the Azadi Tower. It is a combination of Sassanid and Islamic architectural designs and was erected to commemorate the 2,500th anniversary of the Persian Empire.

Another landmark to visit is the Golestan Palace, which actually consists of 17 palaces, a garden, and several museums housing culture, art, and the largest collection of jewels in the world.

Tiberias, Israel

There are some wonderful historic sites to visit within Tiberias, including Rambam’s Tomb, St. Peter’s Church, the Antiquities Museum, and the Jewish Court. Many of these historic sites are religious in nature, so be careful with how you compose yourself when visiting. The last thing you want to do is offend anyone here.

It’s also a meeting place for different faiths, including Hassidic Jews and Muslims. Tiberias is definitely a place for you to keep an open mind and not be judgmental of anyone’s faith.

Visiting the Middle East does require you to observe specific customs that you’re not used to. It is a chance for you to step out of your comfort zone while still respecting the culture and ideals of the places you’re visiting.
