Unfortunately, we are still living in a pandemic, and there are no signs that covid will be going away any time soon. However, we’re most definitely in a better place than we were at the start. Hospitalizations and deaths from the virus are now at low levels thanks to vaccines and other protective measures, meaning we’re able to cautiously take steps into a ‘new normal’. We can attempt to resume many of the things we had to put on pause back in 2020 and get back on track to achieving our goals and living life. Lockdowns and restrictions have had huge impacts on each and every one of us, here are some of the things you might have been wanting to do pre-lockdown or during lockdown that you weren’t able to do. Why not make them goals for 2022?
Moving house
Moving house during the midst of the pandemic wasn’t impossible, but it was certainly more difficult. The situation did adapt with things like virtual house viewings, but chances are if moving was on your agenda pre-lockdown it might have been something you chose to put off. As things begin to return to some kind of normality you could look into it again, check out properties on a site like Compass, and see what’s out there. A new home could be the fresh start you’re after.
Starting a relationship
The pandemic has been less than ideal for daters. Many resorted to things like zoom dates, but others simply put their dating lives on hold. Without the ability to meet potential love interests in person and get a gauge on your chemistry or how they are in person, it definitely added another element of difficulty to an already complex situation. If you’re single and ready to meet the man or woman of your dreams, you’re able to cautiously do so now that legal restrictions on meeting have been lifted.
Starting a business
Whether you lost a job, had your working hours reduced, or were on furlough, many of us had more time on our hands during the lockdown. Maybe this time allowed you to practice a new skill or hobby that you’re now able to monetize, or perhaps you spotted a gap in the market? Why not take the bull by the horns and set things up, whether it’s a side hustle or a full-time thing it could change your life.
Travel
Finally, travel for fun was off the cards for each and every one of us during the depths of lockdown. It’s something that so many of us missed, travel is good for the soul and gives us a much-needed break so it was devastating in the start when holidays were canceled. And continued for a long time until recently when travel was reopened to certain destinations. If you’re comfortable with travel then now could be the time to seize the opportunity. If you’re still wary, you could always book a staycation in self-contained accommodation such as a break to a lodge, glamping pod, or villa that you have sole access to.
