Covering an area of 116 acres, Vondelpark is the largest and most visited park in Amsterdam. Among its huge areas of green spaces, you will find the rose garden, which has more than 70 varieties of flowers. It also has sculptures, play areas, and other recreational facilities as well as numerous cafes where you can have snacks or a full meal.
Dam Square
You will find more travelers in Dam Square than most other places. The former homes of the Dutch royal family are situated there, as well as Madame Tussauds wax museum, the New Church, and the National Memorial Statue, which is dedicated to the soldiers who lost their lives in the last world war. This huge public square is lined with cafes, bars, and restaurants and there are plenty of places to buy souvenirs.
Rembrandt House Museum
Rembrandt lived in this house that has now been turned into a museum, for 20 years and it was the most successful time of his career. His many outings on the canals were the inspiration for his paintings, and it was where he found models for his biblical themes. There are numerous of his etchings and personal items, and English language guided tours are available.

Great suggestions! I had less than 24 hours in Amsterdam and only had time for Anne Frank, a canal tour, and Dam Square. Definitely want to get back to check out some of these other things!

I had a 10 hour layover ( YES 10!) in Amsterdam years ago. I got to go see the Anne Frank house and it was such a humbling experience. I definitely need to get back there to see the rest of it!
