Artist Spotlight: WorkAHolic by DRussellAmerica

When I hit play to watch the video for “WorkAHolic” by DRussellAmerica, I wasn’t sure what I was in store for. But I was pleasantly surprised at this creative and funny hip hop music video.

“WorkAHolic” is a realistic view of many peoples lives. Work, work, work plus lack of sleep and being stressed. When you watch the video, you know that this is not just words being rapped. Being a workaholic is something that DRussellAmerica is very familiar with. This is a reason why this song is so relatable to many people who listen to it. Myself included.

I hadn’t heard of DRussellAmerica until the video landed in my inbox. I was curious about the mask you see him wearing in the video. So, I did some research to find out the story behind it. The masked is $18,000 and designed by Jose Fernandez. DRussellAmerica says the mask is really about privacy, especially when he’s out with family and friends. He wants to enjoy that time uninterrupted with his love ones.
