The US is (obviously) a massive country with numerous cities and copious things to do. Finding ways to enjoy the country can be challenging, but what if you made food your main focus? Foodie travellers will have so many places to enjoy across this huge country, and let’s take a better look at the tastiest cities to visit.

Cleveland, Ohio
Cleveland started out as an up-and-coming foodie hotspot, but now people recognise it as the home of great tastes in the Midwest. You’ll feast on some iconic delights in this amazing city – including pierogies, Polish Boy sandwiches and local delights from countless markets.
It’s also home to a growing coffee scene, spearheaded by PureFyx Coffee Shop, meaning this city is excellent for eating throughout the day. You’ll find no shortage of breakfast joints, brunch cafes and highly-rated restaurants.
New Orleans, Louisiana
You can’t ignore the incredible food scene in New Orleans. It almost feels like a separate country when you get there, such is the diversity of cuisines on display. It also feels like a city that’s built around its food culture, offering so many amazing eateries for you to try.
Creole and Cajun cuisine are the big ones here – and you have to try local gumbos or jambalayas while you’re there. It’s a place that’s full of soul and truly immerses you in the local culture, which makes the food taste even better.
New York City, New York
Let’s be honest, you can’t talk about tasty cities without mentioning New York. It’s one of the busiest places in the world – and one of the most popular – meaning it brings food ideas from all over the world into one place.
The New York food scene is massive and you’ll find everything you need there. Bagels and pizzas are two iconic city favourites, but you’ll see so many other options too. If you’re visiting New York for Christmas, then your eyes (and stomach) are open to loads of additional food choices via some beautiful Christmas markets.
Chicago, Illinois
Does deep-dish pizza ring a bell? Honestly, it’s more than enough to convince anyone that Chicago is worth a food-related visit. You get great hot dogs here (along with so many other foods), but truly make it your mission to find the best Chicago pizza place.
It’s just one of those iconic foods that’s known all over the world – and you can finally say that you’ve actually had a deep-dish pizza in Chicago.
Los Angeles, California
Like New York, LA is a legendary city with loads of global tourism, and that means it has to have a thriving food scene. Much of the cuisine here is inspired by different cultures, with Mexican and Korean being extremely popular.
If you want to try the best Korean BBQ or tacos you’ve ever tasted, then add this city to your list of foodie retreats.
There’s no denying that all of these cities will give you tasty delights that’ll live long in your memories. However, they also benefit from being great places to visit in general. Go for the food but stay for all the other brilliant tourist attractions.
