It has been forever since I’ve shared anything cooking related on the blog. 2019, I’m bringing back lots of things that you use to see when I first started the blog. To kick off recipes, this one is super easy and doesn’t require a ton of prep beforehand.
Being from Louisiana, I love seafood, plus I’m also a pescatarian. Being that I don’t live there, I don’t get to eat things like boiled crawfish often, so I have to substitute by doing crab and shrimp boil at home.
Ingredients
- Snow crabs
- Shrimp
- Corn
- Mushrooms
- Seafood boil seasoning
You can use any type of crab you like king crab, whole crabs, even live crab it’s whatever fancies your taste bud. Same with shrimp, you can use frozen, fresh, whole shrimp, etc. I used snow crab because they are easier to crack once they are cooked. I used frozen shrimp, well it was just easy. You can also add potatoes, sausage, onions, to your boil. I didn’t because myself or Charmingly CJ wouldn’t eat them.
I get a pot of water boiling and add my seasoning. You can use these types of seasons, check out the ones below for suggestions.
Once the water is boiling you can add your corn and crabs, let those cook about 15-20 minutes. I added my shrimp and mushrooms in at about the 15-minute mark, as they don’t take long to cook.

This looks delicious! Thanks for sharing!
This looks delicious and not too hard to make! Thanks for sharing!
I never tried to boil prawns, honestly. Although it sounds easier than frying them.
I always buy them frozen and a lightly fry them.
I love any dish that is boiled altogether then dumped in front of me to devour with my hand!! Can’t wait to try this dish!
Yum! I don’t think I’ve ever had mushrooms in a fish/seafood boil before but it sounds so good!!
This looks so easy to make, my hubby loves shrimp… I just pinned this for later!!
Very easy! It’s an easy and quick meal.
Wow, thanks for the recommendation. I am from Maryland and we love to put old bay seasoning on everything seafood. And, my mom loves seafood. I try to put old bay seasoning on seafood here in Japan but people look at me strange.
When I lived in Japan, I always had my mom send me Cajun seasonings from Louisiana. I totally understand about Old Bay on your seafood. Anytime I was on the East Coast and had seafood it had Old Bay seasoning, which is good.
I cannot wait to make this! We eat a ton of seafood when crawfish season rolls around so I’m going to tell my brother to make this for the family.
