One of our favorite sandwiches to make is a Louisiana favorite; Shrimp Po Boy. It is a quick and easy recipe. It is a meal that taste great and also inexpensive.
Start by pre-heating your fryer to 350 degrees.
Ingredients
1 lb shrimp (peel & cleaned)
Hoagie rolls
Flour
Pickles
Lettuce
Mayo, mustard, ketchup
Hot sauce
Tomatoes
Season to taste (We used Slap Ya Momma seasoning)
Season the shrimp to taste before placing in a Ziploc bag of flour. We used Slap Ya Momma seasoning to season the shrimp. Once seasoned put shrimp in a large size Ziploc with flour and shake bag until the shrimp are well coated with flour.
Fry the shrimp for 6-8 minutes until golden brown. Place the cook shrimp on a paper towel. If you want your bun toasted, you can place in the oven or a toaster oven for a couple minutes. Now, the fun part, making your po boy just the way you like it.
What makes this even better is people can dress their po boy to their liking. B’s po boy had mayo, mustard, lettuce, tomatoes, hot sauce, and pickles.
My po boy was very simple, only having mustard, tomatoes, and pickles.
Enjoy!
