Ah, the rain. It’s that time of year again when the weatherman is always predicting precipitation and you have to remember your raincoat when you leave the house in the morning. For some people, rainy days are a total drag. All they can think about is how depressing it is to be cooped up inside all day long. But for others, rainy days can be a lot of fun! Here are 10 fun things to do on a rainy day:
Have a Movie Marathon
Break out your favorite movies, snacks, and cozy blankets to enjoy an afternoon of binge-watching. You can even make a themed movie marathon and watch all of your favorite fantasy films, rom-coms, or action flicks.
Have an Indoor Picnic
Gather up all your favorite picnic foods and set up a picnic blanket somewhere in the living room. You can even play indoor games like charades or board games while you eat!
Bake Some Treats
Nothing cozies up a rainy day better than the smell of freshly baked goods. Pick out some recipes online, gather ingredients from the cupboard, and get to work whipping up some delicious desserts. (Bonus points if you deliver them to friends and family!)
Get Crafty
Rainy days are great for getting your creative juices flowing. Pull out all of your art supplies, make homemade cards for friends and family, or even try a new DIY project you’ve seen online.
Have a Game Night
Round up all your favorite board games and challenge your friends to a game night! This is great for getting everyone together, even when it’s too wet to go outside.
Do Some Yoga
Rainy days are great for relaxation and self-care. Light some candles put on some calming music, and spend an afternoon stretching and meditating. You’ll be feeling refreshed in no time.
Tea parties are a great way to spend time with friends or family on a rainy day. Gather up all your favorite teas and snacks, set up a nice table in the living room, and enjoy some sweet conversations over tea.
Enjoy Some Music
Put on whatever type of music makes you feel the most relaxed or energized. You can also try learning a new instrument or making some of your own tunes!
Indoor Family Fun Parks
You can still have a ton of fun at indoor family fun parks! Many places have mini golf, virtual reality games, go-karts, and more, so there’s plenty to do even if you don’t want to leave the house.
Have a Tea Party
Tea parties are a great way to spend time with friends or family on a rainy day. Gather up all your favorite teas and snacks, set up a nice table in the living room, and enjoy some sweet conversations over tea.
Do Some Gardening Indoors
If it’s too wet outside, you can always bring nature indoors with indoor gardening projects like terrariums or succulent gardens. This is an easy way to bring life and energy into any room. For example, you can create an indoor herb garden and enjoy the flavor of freshly grown herbs in your cooking.
No matter how you decide to spend your rainy day, make sure you take the time to enjoy it. Rainy days don’t have to be dull or boring—they can be full of fun and adventure if you let them!
