The anticipation of a journey, the thrill of adventure, and the promise of new experiences—all begin the moment you step foot in the airport. But here’s one problem: most people despise the experience that the airport gives. In fact, for some, if there is a mishap at the airport, this dampens the mood of the trip, and it can even ruin it! Obviously, this is far from ideal! While airports are often seen as merely a means to an end, a mundane checkpoint on the way to your destination, they can also be transformed into a magical realm of excitement and romance.
Alright, maybe not romance itself, but just as it is important to try to romanticize your life (as it’s a nice way to find joy), why not also do that for going to the airport? There’s always some joy, so why not just embrace it? Well, with that said, here is exactly what you can do to romanticize the airport during your next trip!
Dress the Part
When you think of airport clothes, what comes to mind? Probably leggings or even super loose clothing, right? Well, these are technically good options because they’re so comfortable; it’s really going to help out a lot if you go ahead and elevate your airport ensemble by dressing in comfortable yet chic attire that makes you feel confident and ready for adventure.
So what this means is dressing comfortably but dressing fashionably (not lazily), so look into travel-friendly loose fabrics like cotton or linen, layer up stylishly, and add some accessories to help, too. For example, instead of sweatpants and a hoodie, why not instead go for some loose linen trousers and a loose cotton button-down top? Not only will you feel more polished and put-together, but you’ll also set the stage for a memorable journey ahead.
The Ride You Get Going to the Airport
The subway or a bus to the airport is usually overpacked (no matter what day it is), and taking an Uber or taxi can be incredibly expensive! On top of that, there’s this concerning trend of not wanting to ask someone to take you to the airport (thanks to hustle culture mainly), so what is there to do? Well, in most of these scenarios, you’re not going to be comfortable and happy going to the airport, and that literally alone makes the trip start on a bad foot!
So why not go with something a little fancy, like Montclair Limo car service? This is super luxurious, but having someone take your bags, put them in the trunk, and drop you off while holding the door and getting your luggage will really remind you that you’re about to have an incredible trip!
Indulge in Airport Dining
If you can afford this, try and do it, even if it’s something like a light snack and a glass of wine; it can be a bit calming. So, go ahead and turn your pre-flight dining experience into a culinary adventure by exploring the airport’s diverse array of dining options. Of course, all airports vary, but you can usually find at least one good place to get a bite to eat or drink.
You definitely deserve to treat yourself to a leisurely meal at a sit-down restaurant, sip on a craft cocktail at a trendy bar, or indulge in a gourmet snack from a local artisanal vendor. But of course, these are pretty expensive, so only splurge if you have the money, or you could look into packing something, too!
