A Spectacular Celebration

On a beautiful breezy day, families and community members gathered to witness the grandeur of the Budweiser Clydesdales. The event, held at Sugar Mill Pond Town Center, was a celebration of Schilling Distributing’s remarkable 75-year journey of service to the area.

The Stars of the Show: The Clydesdales

The Budweiser Clydesdales, with their striking size and iconic red wagon, and Gus the Dalmatian, were undoubtedly the highlight of the day. These magnificent horses have been a symbol of the Anheuser-Busch brand since 1933 when they debuted to celebrate the end of Prohibition. To this day, their appearances continue to evoke feelings of nostalgia and admiration.

For those in attendance, it was an unforgettable experience to see these gentle giants up close. Standing over six feet tall at the shoulder and weighing around 2,000 pounds each, the Clydesdales drew attention with their beauty and grace. Their handlers, dressed in traditional uniforms, expertly guided the team as they paraded through the streets of Youngsville, starting at Tap Room. Making their way to Mandez’s Seafood Bar and Grill, El Paso Mexican Grill, Rouses, Corner Bar, and Rotolo’s.

Schilling’s 75th-anniversary celebration wasn’t just about looking back; it was about celebrating the future. The event featured live music by Dustin Sonnier & The Wanted and a fundraiser for Folds of Honor.  Attendees had the opportunity to purchase t-shirts and koozes as part of the fundraiser. The presence of the Budweiser Clydesdales added a layer of magic to the occasion, serving as a reminder of the importance of tradition and the power of connection.
