Hip-hop should not be controlled, nor should it be held back from its original purpose. To uplift, to enlighten, to bring reality to the forefront and to elevate minds with words that were never heard in this form. I go by the name of J-Carter, and that’s one of the reasons I have come.
J-Carter has a new album I’m Still Here releasing August 24th and I was able to get listen to it before it’s available on iTunes, Amazon, Spotify, Tidal, Google Play, and many of the other popular music streaming services. This is an album you will want to add to your collection.
My favorite songs include, “Please Forgive Me” and “Different Direction”.
“Please Forgive Me” has a positive message. It’s a Christina hip-hop vibe to the song. It’s definitely one you have to listen to. Another song, that is giving off the positive vibes with a message is “Different Direction”, the way I interpret this song is that sometimes you have to go in different directions. Sometimes, that is the best option.
Overall, this album has some very positive message songs. It’s worth a listen to at least, if you are really loving it you should add it to your favorites playlist.
About J-Carter
J-Carter based out of New Jersey, began his musical journey writing lyrics at the age of thirteen. His musical influences are motivated by a conglomerate of hip-hop artists that have come on the music scene the past 30 years. His music is a blend of old school feel mixed with the new contemporary feel of hip-hop, but J-Carter strives to maintain his own style and voice to separate himself on the playing field.
Although Time to Shine was his first album he released to the public, but he has been in the rap game for quite some time. It was only now that the realization of the world needing to hear a new voice and perspective brought me out of the wilderness and into the forefront of hip-hop. To not only contribute to the overall success of hip-hop but to also make his mark in a genre that can influence the minds of many.
