When we lived in Norfolk, Virginia there was this GREAT Philly Cheese Steak place not far from our house. I had never had one before and after eating one there I was hooked. Since living in Japan, it is hard to find some of the foods you like. B one day decides to try his hand at making them. This last time he made them; I knew I had to share the recipe it is just too good to keep to myself.
This recipe is for three adults and toddler girl. The adults all made sandwiches and toddler girl just ate the meat. This is very easy to make. The only cooking involve is cooking the beef.
Ingredients
3 lbs. Ribeye (Sukiyaki)
1 container of mushrooms
1 red bell pepper
1 green bell pepper
Provolone Cheese
Cheese Wiz or Old English Spread
1 package Hoagie rolls
Chips & pickles for the side
Note: You can use any color combination of bell peppers. Add more bell peppers if you will have more guest.
Preparation Instructions
Slice your mushrooms and bell peppers. Roast them in the oven for 350 for about 10 minutes. Chop the meat smaller and cook. We use Japanese cut call Sukiyaki. After the meat is cook everyone can make their sandwiches to their liking. To have a nice melt on the cheese, wrap the sandwich in some foil and place in the oven on 350 degrees for about 10 minutes.
The sandwiches all turned out great. And we each made a sandwich that did not look like the next. I would have to say mine turn out the best.
I will give this recipe a go. Thank you for sharing it.
OMG. These look amazing. I love it when you can figure out a recipe that is just as good as a restaurant’s. Yummy, yummy. Thanks!
I know! It’s great to be able to re-create a recipe that you like, especially when you move away and want that food.
Those look delicious! My family will have to test this recipe soon. Thanks for sharing! 🙂
Looks delicious!
Oh yum!!! This looks so good- I wasn’t hungry before but now I am!
MMM! Those look really good, and I love how you can customize them to your own tastebuds!
I love making it my way. I don’t like bell peppers or onions. This is a yummy sandwich, but I can make it my way with mushrooms and the type of cheese I like. YUM!
hmmmm this looks good! 🙂 we used to live in japan and know how hard it is to get yummy comfort food like that! 🙂
Yes, it can be hard to find those comfort foods and if by chance we do find them it can get very expensive to eat them often.
Oh these look soooo tasty! WANT!
