If you want to work while you travel the world, then you will know what an exhilarating experience this can be. You may feel as though you have the opportunity to see such great things and that you have a lot of career flexibility as well. If you want to help yourself to make the most out of your experience, then here are some top tips to help you on your venture.
Wi-Fi is Important
If you want to work remotely then you have to make sure that you have a solid Wi-Fi connection. If you are going to be staying in an Airbnb, then you may want to ask the landlord to send a screenshot of the internet speeds before you commit. If you know that the area you are visiting is quite bad for internet signal, then is possible for you to visit a co-working space. A comfortable working space will give you the peace of mind you need to know that your work is going to be sustainable, and it also helps you to get your head down when it really counts.
Set Focus Blocks
If you are in a different time zone to everyone else, then you need to work around this. Dedicate your mornings to catching up on emails or even crunching numbers, while other people are offline. If you can do this, then you will soon find that you can be more focused and intentional with your time. When everyone else comes online, you can catch up on the important tasks, so you are not always behind.
Keep an Open Mind
It doesn’t matter whether you are looking for a RN travel job, or working as a freelancer because you need to take the time and do your research. You also need to understand that everyone is different and that if you see glowing reviews of a country or a city then this could be very different in person. You may find that you simply don’t enjoy your time in the city either. If you can, you need to try and keep your expectations low. Enjoy what you see and be pleasantly surprised if it’s better than you thought. If you are faced with constant disappointment when traveling, then this will make it very difficult for you to stay motivated with work.
Find your Anchors of Stability
If you are always on the go then you need to find some constants. Bring your favorite noodles with you or buy a packet of your favorite dipping sauce. You can also bring a TV boxset that you love or a Chromecast that allows you to watch shows from your home country. If you do this, then you will soon find that it is easier than ever for you to avoid being homesick. It can also help you to look after yourself when you are traveling too, so be mindful of that if you can.
So, as you can see, there are multiple things you can do to make your time spent working away, feel less stressful. Why not incorporate some of the above tips into your regime today, so you can benefit your mental and physical health?
