I am glad to be starting a blogging series here on the blog, artist spotlight. I’ll be putting the spotlight on varies artist I come across or who have reached out to the blog. The first artist is an artist hailing from Cleveland, OH. Let me introduce you to K-Von.
I tweeted for artist to send me their Soundcloud links and this is one of the links I received. K-Von’s new single The Addiction which features R&B singer, Reka (@RekaMonroe). It’s produced by Lady Trauma (@LadyTrauma).
My Thoughts
Let’s talk about The Addiction. This track slayed!!! First off, Reka’s voice is lovely! She has clean, crisp, sound. Together K-Von and Reka make you want to dance on the bar, the coffee table. Yes, this is a song to have in your headphones while getting ready to go out for a night on the town with your girls. This song is like an anthem for the chick who is not looking for a relationship. “I’m what they call a bad girl, I’ll rock your world. A bad girl, I can’t stay, no time for no love girl.” Yes, the chorus says it all. This is the girl, just telling you what she wants and how she wants it. Please don’t come knocking on her door looking for love. I cannot mention that Lady Trauma produced a hit here. The beat Lady Trauma laid on this track, oh my, she did her thing. Two of the greatest Missy Elliot and Timbaland inspire her.

About the song
The song, “The Addiction” is a record about love. Not the typical “I love you” song. But more along the line of a guy falls for a girl who has some other things in mind. K-Von hits from both sides of the situation as well as Reka doing her thing on the hook. This song is for the typical, “I can do bad all by myself” woman.
