Let’s shine the Artist Spotlight on C. Banks today and his album Lost in the City.

C. Banks is a hip hop artist from Dallas, TX. His musical style fits all types of hip hop whether it be melodic or traditional rap. His album Lost in the City, is a must listen to.

The first track on the album is “Bane” and it comes in bumping hard. It reminded me of summer times and cars speaker systems bumping music loud. “Alltheway” follows and has a completely different feel, upbeat tempo something you want to bob your head to or dance to. This one is one for your playlist – add it! He brought bars and uniqueness with this song.

“Conneckted” delivery of the lyrics reminds me of Drake. I moved to the next song on the album. The vibe I get from the album is more R&B, but not singing, rapping. “This Not a Sad Song” is about getting over a heartbreak. It’s a slower tempo, which gives it this sad vibe to match with the song.

“West Coast Vibes” and “Cosign!” both have a good beat. “Cosign!” does have a positive vibe to it with lyrics like “Build a house without selling bricks.”.

“Timeless” again has a great beat. This song left me wanting more… It felt like C. Banks was holding back. “Supreme” brings the bumping beat, but the delivery is weak. It turned into a bit of mumble rap, but it wanted to have the Houston rap style. Closing out the album is “Solo (Just Me)”.

Overall it’s a decent album. It definitely gives banging beats on each track. What’s my favorite song on Lost in the City?? It would have to be “Alltheway”.
